1. Information MotionVector handles

Account information

If you create an account, MotionVector processes your email address, account identifier, authentication information, and the version and time of the Terms and Privacy Policy acceptance associated with account creation. Password authentication is provided through Supabase; MotionVector does not store your plaintext password.

Videos you analyze

Video decoding and motion analysis run locally in your browser. During normal analysis, MotionVector does not upload or store your source video, audio, filename, frames, thumbnails, or embedded file and location metadata.

Optional contributions

Contribution is off by default. If you enable it for an analysis, MotionVector may receive derived segmentation and region data, relative trajectory, detected motion events and confidence, video duration, processing settings and versions, quality metrics, checksums, and other technical information needed to verify and maintain the contribution dataset.

Your source video, audio, filename, and embedded GPS/EXIF metadata are not included in the contribution. To detect duplicate contributions, your browser creates a fingerprint from the encoded video track. That raw fingerprint is sent to MotionVector only for deduplication, transformed on the server into a keyed value, and is not stored in raw form.

Contributions are intentionally not linked to your MotionVector account. This reduces identity linkage, but it also means deleting your account does not automatically identify or delete previous contributions.

Product analytics

On the production site, MotionVector sends a small allowlisted set of product events through its own server to PostHog. Analytics can include a random browser identifier before sign-in or account UUID after sign-in, sanitized page paths, coarse browser/operating-system/device categories, referring domain and standard campaign fields, and limited product state such as analysis mode, quality preset, counts, success or failure stage, and elapsed time.

Product analytics does not include:

• source video, audio, frames, thumbnails, filenames, or video metadata;
• segmentation, trajectory, motion events, confidence values, or other analysis output;
• email address, name, raw error messages, or search text;
• source fingerprints, contribution IDs, processing-run IDs, batch IDs, or authentication tokens.

MotionVector does not load the PostHog browser SDK and does not use PostHog session replay, autocapture, DOM snapshots, heatmaps, or automatic browser-error capture. PostHog GeoIP processing is disabled for events sent by MotionVector.

Network and security information

MotionVector and its infrastructure providers may process standard connection and security information such as IP addresses, request times, HTTP headers, and technical logs when needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and protect the service.

2. How information is used

MotionVector uses information only as reasonably needed to:

• create, authenticate, and secure accounts;
• provide and troubleshoot the service;
• complete optional contributions you request and prevent duplicates;
• test, evaluate, research, maintain, and improve MotionVector and related motion-analysis technology;
• measure basic product reliability and usage;
• prevent abuse, investigate security problems, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Service providers and disclosures

MotionVector currently relies on service providers including:

• Cloudflare for hosting, networking, application infrastructure, and security;
• Supabase for authentication and database services;
• Backblaze B2 for private storage of contributed derived data;
• PostHog for the limited product analytics described above.

These providers process information as needed to provide their services to MotionVector. MotionVector may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations.

MotionVector does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or third-party targeted advertising.

4. Cookies, browser storage, and tracking

MotionVector uses cookies or browser storage for functions such as authentication, local product preferences, anonymous analytics identification, and analytics privacy state. MotionVector does not use advertising cookies.

MotionVector respects a browser Do Not Track signal by disabling its product analytics. MotionVector does not permit third-party advertising trackers to use MotionVector to track your activity over time across unrelated websites or online services.

5. Retention

Account information is kept while your account exists and as reasonably needed afterward for security, legal, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational purposes. Deleting your account removes the Supabase account and does not depend on analytics-provider availability.

Product analytics is retained according to MotionVector's product needs and provider settings. When account deletion cleanup is configured, MotionVector also requests deletion of the PostHog person and associated historical analytics that can be identified by the account UUID.

Contributed derived data may be retained while useful for MotionVector's dataset, research, testing, security, and product development. Because contributions are intentionally not linked to accounts, account deletion does not identify or automatically remove them.

6. Your choices

• You can analyze video without enabling contribution.
• You can use a browser Do Not Track setting to disable MotionVector product analytics.
• You can delete your MotionVector account using the account controls.
• You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information where applicable.

7. Children

MotionVector is not intended for children under 13. If MotionVector learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally sufficient parental consent, it will take reasonable steps to delete that information. Users under the age of legal majority should use MotionVector only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

8. Security

MotionVector uses safeguards intended to match the limited information it receives, including data minimization, encrypted network connections, private contribution storage, restricted storage credentials, server-side validation, and restricted database access. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

9. United States availability

MotionVector is currently intended for users in the United States. If MotionVector materially expands into other jurisdictions, its privacy disclosures and controls may be updated before that expansion.

10. Changes to this policy

MotionVector may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The version and effective date above identify the policy in effect. Material changes that require new consent will be presented before the affected processing occurs where required by law.
